An official source at the Foreign Ministry told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) on Saturday that the affirmation came after the press discussed the recent visit by the IAEA’s delegation to the country.

The source said that Syria and IAEA signed a MoU which allowed the agency’s delegation to visit the Al-Kabar nuclear facility east of the country, a location which was bombarded by the Israel air-froce.

Syria allowed the IAEA to visit the site and would be more than welcomed to provide answers to the agency regarding the facility’s operations and activities, said the source, adding that the Israel aggression should not be compromised with.

The ministry’s source affirmed that Syria did not develop the facility with North Korea, affirming that Damascus abided with the NPT and the IAEA regulations.

About the US backing to the Israeli bombardment, the source said that the US should have credibility when discussing the Mideast nuclear file, indicating Washington always failed to mentioned Israel’s nuclear capabilities when discussing a Mideast free of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD).
