Jeev misses cut at Wyndham Championships

Greensboro (North Carolina) : Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh missed the midway cut at the Wyndham Championship on the US PGA Tour despite carding a one-under 69 in the second round of the event. Jeev, who had a 73 in the first round, finished one-over 141.

The cut came at three-under 137 at the par-70 Sedgerfield Country Club Friday.

Jeev will now take a break to rest his ankle and will return to action two or three weeks later.

Jeev opened with a bogey on the first, which he neutralized with a birdie on the next hole. A birdie on sixth was followed by a double bogey on seventh and then there were three birdies in a row from the eighth to tenth. A bogey on 14th and a birdie on 15th and a closing bogey on 18th ended his eventful day.

Carl Pettersson of Sweden carded a record-breaking 61 to match the PGA Tour’s 36-hole mark at 15-under 125. He had a three-stroke lead over Garrett Willis (64).

Scott McCarron (64) was four strokes behind.
