Deputy Chief of the Russian General Staff Anatali Nogovitzyn said they had enough intelligence information on Tbilisi”s intentions of seizing Sokhumi, Abkhazian capital.

Georgian forces are re-organizing and planning to return to the headquarters in the cities of Gori and Sanaki where Russia currently keeps pacification troops, said Nogovitzyn.

The Russian general warned his nation reserves the right to prevent any attempt of air reconnaissance in the area held by Russian troops in Georgian territory like Sanaki.

He also said the nine NATO warships anchored in the Black Sea increase tension in the region.

The Russian Senate, for its part, approved a resolution backing an Abkhazia and South Ossetia sovereignty petition rejected by Tbilisi. President of the Russian Senate Sergei Mironov said relations between Tbilisi and the two separatists republics cannot return to normal after the Georgian invasion to South Ossetia.

Georgian Minister of Integration Temur Yakobashvili said the Russian legislators” statements will have no legal effect in the future of both regions.
