Ludhiana : An attempt by a youth in this industrial city in Punjab to broker peace between two warring friends cost him his life, police officials said here Monday.
Manmeet Singh, 32, had called a meeting at his office here Sunday night between warring friends Mukhwinder Singh and Amit Kumar.
The dispute between Singh and Kumar was owing to some property deal and Manmeet had called both to sort it out.
The police officials said that during heated discussions at the meeting, Kumar took Manmeet’s revolver and shot him dead from close range.
The assailant then fled the spot.
“We are trying to nab the killers who are absconding,” an area police officer said.
