Islamabad : Amidst intensified tensions with India for the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani called for Tuesday’s meeting over National Security in his residence.
The debate will be focused on finding a politics of consensus between the military commands, the political leadership of the country and the main party’s leaders on how to face New Delhi accusations.
Gilani has scheduled to travel to Hong Kong to attend an international conference but he cancelled his visit because of the strained atmosphere created.
Pakistan and India have confronted themselves four times in the battle field in their 60 years of existence as independent nation and were on the brink of a fifth war last 2002 but undertook a peace process since 2004.
The government spokesman Zahir Bashir said Gilani has already contact the political leaders’ groups and analyzed with them the current circumstances.
Bashir reiterated that Pakistan is not involved in any violent act against India and ratified Islamabad readiness to cooperate with New Delhi in capturing those responsible of violence that shaken Mumbai for three days, killing 195.
In addition President Asif Ali Zardari urged India not to be influenced by the event and allow terrorist militants plunge both countries into a war.
