Tehran : The formal declaration of Imamat (Leadership) of Imam Ali (AS) was announced by the Holy Prophet of Islam (SAWA) on 18th of Zee al-Hijjah of the year 10 AH at Ghadir Khumm near Makkah Mukarramah after the ‘Farewell Hajj’.
On this historical and auspicious day on the divine orders of Allah Almighty (SWT), the Holy Prophet of Islam (SAWA) formally declared Imam Ali (AS) as ‘The Immediate Imam and Caliph of the Muslims after the Holy Prophet of Islam (SAWA)’.
Regarding divine right of Imam Ali (AS) the Holy Prophet of Islam (SAWA) declared: “To Whom I’m Lord, Ali is Lord, O Allah! befriend whoever befriend him and be hostile to whosoever is hostile to him.” Imam Ali (AS), the Greatest Guardian of Islam, the First Muslim, an intimate associate of the Holy Prophet of Islam (SAWA) in the life and the holy Islamic mission, the Immediate Successor to the Holy Prophet of Islam (SAWA) and the First Holy Immaculate Imam of the Shia in the World, is the only unique personality in the world who was born in the Holy Kaaba and was martyred in the Mosque.
