Bhopal : The National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), which presently covers 31 of the 48 districts of Madhya Pradesh will be implemented across the state from April 1, an official said.
Madhya Pradesh Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Rustam Singh told IANS that employment has been provided to over three million families since the start of the scheme two years ago.
Singh said Monday that Rs.19.14 billion were received under the first phase of the scheme, out of which Rs.15.26 billion has been spent so far.
In the second phase, the state got Rs.6.76 billion of which Rs.2.10 billion has been spent so far.
