Lucknow : In a surprise move, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati reshuffled her eight-month old cabinet late Monday night, changing the portfolios of three ministers.
This was the first reshuffle undertaken by her.
Prominent among those affected are Health Minister Laljee Verma who has been named as the new finance minister.
The change acquires significance on account of the fact that the budget is in the process of being finalised. It will be tabled in the assembly sometime next week.
