New Delhi : India and Kyrgyz Republic Wednesday planned to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism and culture.
This was decided during a half hour meeting between Kyrgyz Minister of Foreign Affairs Ednan Karabaev and Indian Tourism and Culture Minister Ambika Soni.
Both leaders stressed the need to promote further cooperation in tourism and culture. “There is a necessity to promote tourist traffic from India to Kyrgyzstan,” Karabaev said.
India can offer training to students from Kyrgyz in tourism and hospitality sectors and both countries can strengthen cooperation in the tourism sector, he added.
He also sought India’s aid in the field of libraries and setting up of a centre of Hindi studies.
The minister proposed that both countries should go for a joint archaeological expedition either in India or Kyrgyzstan.
Exchange of writers, authors, academics, travel writers and tour operators between the two countries will promote better understanding between the peoples, Soni said.
