Four former chief ministers of four states attended the rally organized by former Jharkhand chief minister Babulal Marandi of the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Democratic (JVM-D).

Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief and former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Mulayam Singh, former Haryana chief minister and Indian National Lok Dal leader Om Prakash Chautala attended the rally.

“We condemn the incident which took place against north Indian people in Maharashtra. I on behalf of my party invite the people of Jharkhand to come to Andhra Pradesh to earn livelihood,” said Naidu.

Addressing the rally SP leader Amar Singh said: “Maharashtra police had been given a free hand to the workers of Raj Thackrey’s party to go on rampage. When we informed police we were told to handle the issue ourselves.”

“We asked our party workers to remain calm and to avoid any untoward incidents.”

The UNPA leaders also raised the issue of farmers’ suicide and held the central government polices responsible for it.

Addressing the gathering Marandi said: “The rally has been organised to uproot the prevailing corruption in the state. Both the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) and the Congress are in neck deep corruption.”
