Six injured in grenade attack in Indian-administered Kashmir

New Delhi : At least six people, including a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, were injured in a powerful grenade attack by rebels near Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, Friday.

A BSF vehicle was attacked through a grenade this afternoon in Bandipore near Srinagar, news agency Indo Asian News Service reported.

Six people — a BSF trooper and five civilians — were injured in the blast, the news agency said, quoting a BSF official.

The injured have been admitted to a hospital. The condition of one of the civilians is stated to be critical.

No rebel group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
