Ramallah : U.S.-hosted peace conference of Annapolis has outlined the timetable of the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks which resumed in December, Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said on Saturday.
“The negotiation schedule had specified all the issues which will be discussed, including Jerusalem, security, water, borders and prisoners,” Erekat told Voice of Palestine radio.
Erekat was responding to Israeli Premier Ehud Olmert who announced that there was a deal between the two sides to postpone talks on Jerusalem status until the last phase of the negotiations.” His statements are designated for local consumption,” Erekat said.
Earlier, Erekat said the talks have scored no progress due to the continuation of Israeli building of settlements in the occupied West Bank and the ongoing Israeli army operations in Gaza Strip.
Islamic Hamas movement, which rules Gaza Strip, slammed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas earlier in the day for not stopping the negotiations in response to Friday explosion in central Gaza Strip in which eight people were killed.
On Saturday, Palestinian armed groups announced that they shelled southern Israel communities with makeshift rockets in response to the death of eight Palestinians Friday in a mysterious explosion that the factions held Israel responsibility.
At the meantime, the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) said that it had fired 10 home-made rockets onto Israeli targets in Western Negev and southern Israel’s port city of Ashkelon.
