New Delhi : Indias national capital Delhi was put on alert Monday after city police received inputs about probable terror strikes by suspected Pak-based rebel groups.
The Delhi Police have received information about possible terror attacks and accordingly taken precautions, a top official told reporters here today.
The Delhi Police did not want to take any chance and therefore stepped up security across the city, the official added.
Delhi Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal had issued instructions to step up vigil at all major markets railway stations, Delhi Metro and bus stands in the city.
“There is no reason to panic. Police are keeping a tight vigil,” the official said.
A close watch is also being kept at cyber cafes and new mobile users, the official informed.
