"The Report be released to the public and reservations be provided to the minorities, with specific sub-quota to Muslims in services, education, government schemes and in Parliament, (State) Legislatures and local bodies without any further delay," IUML president and Ex-Member of Parliament G.M. Banatwalla said in a statement here Wednesday.

Justice Misra Commission submitted its report to the Government on May 22 last but it is yet to be tabled in Parliament.

The IUML, in its national executive committee meeting held in Chennai on September 2 last, demanded that the Report be made public and its recommendations implemented without any delay.

Now the organisation has decided to send telegrams, postcards, letters and memoranda to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh reiterating its demand from the country over on March 10. And "if so required, the nationwide agitation will be further intensified."

The IUML president has appealed to the people in general and Muslims in particular as well as all social institutions "to send to the Prime Minister on Monday, March 10, 2008 communication demanding that Justice Misra Commission report be tabled in the Parliament and reservation be provided to minorities with specific sub-quota for Muslims."

The Commission headed by former Chief Justice of India Ranganath Misra is reported to have recommended, among others, 10 per cent reservation in education, services and all Government schemes to be granted to Muslims and 5 per cent to other minorities.
