The sources added that several army jeeps stormed al-Ein refugee camp in the west of Nablus and detained Majdi Mabrouk, a senior militant from the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

Mabrouk has been wanted by Israel for a long time, the sources said.

Three people, including Mabrouk’s sister, were wounded when they scuffled with the Israeli soldiers in a bid to hinder the detention.

Meanwhile, the Israeli forces also arrested two civilians in the holy city of Bethlehem, according to the sources.

Israel launches daily detention raids across West Bank towns and villages, saying the arrests were meant to catch Palestinian militants who involved in planning attacks against Israeli targets.

But the Palestinian authorities say the detentions, in many cases, involve civilians and teenagers.
