Arab league chief arrives in Beirut, continues efforts to end political dispute

Beirut : Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa has arrived in Lebanon to continue efforts to put an end to the current political dispute in the country.

Upon arrival, Moussa headed directly to the headquarters of Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri in Ain Tinah area.

Moussa is also to convene with head of the Future Bloc party Saad Al-Hariri and Prime Minister Fouad Al-Siniora.

The Arab initiative calls for electing Lebanese Army Commander Michel Suleiman as president of the country in addition to the formation of a national unity government.

Before leaving Cairo, Moussa expressed hope that efforts for solving the current political dispute here would succeed, telling reporters that his fourth visit is to concentrate on completion of the remaining items in the Arab initiative.
