Tehran : IRI Foreign Ministry spokesman here Wednesday reacted to his Turkish counterpart’s regret expressed over Iranian officials’ stands about the Zionist regime.
Seyyed Mohamad-Ali Hosseini reiterated in his weekly meeting with the press in response to a question made by a reporter, “If the news broadcasted in that respect is authentic, it is quite surprising.” He added, “That is because defending the legitimate rights of the oppressed Palestinian nation, including their right to resist against the occupiers of their motherland by the Zionist regime is the fixed and basic policy of the the entire members of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), the Arab countries, and high ranking Turkish officials.”
Hosseini added, “Materializing the denied rights of the Palestinians and returning the seized and occupied lands of Palestine to their real owners, who are today mostly homeless and spending miserable lives at refugee camps in various countries, recognition of their right to decide the political fate of their country, and return of the entire refugees to their own occupied country have always been among the highest, unchangeable, foreign policy priorities of the entire Islamic and Arab countries.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman emphasized, “We are sure that Turkey, like the past, deeply understands the regional and international statuses, and would not sacrifice the major demands of the Palestinian nation to meet certain political concerns.”
