AHVAZ, Jan 5 (Bernama) — Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mohammad-Mahdi Zahedi said that Iran ranks first in seven scientific fields in the Middle East, which is good news for country’s scientific society.
Speaking at a commemoration service for Hoveizeh Student Martyrs, he said these fields include mathematics, mechanics, polymer, chemistry, chemical engineering, nano technology, and medical engineering.
He said that the great regional achievement is a fruit of our students and our academic society’s self-confidence, adding that the students should alertly and wisely continue their proud campaign in cultural, scientific and technological fields.
“In this campaign we are not only not scared of the plots hatched by the enemies the slightest bit, but also gain greater impetus and stronger will to move ever onward to secure the Islamic Revolution’s exalted objectives.
“By grace of God, as it was stated in the mottoes of the 9th Government, we would try to conquer the peaks of advancement and national prosperity, Iran’s Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) cited Zahedi as saying.
The Minister of Science, Research and Technology concluded his remarks stating: “Today the Iranian youth, particularly the Basij revolutionary mobilization forces, need to maintain their readiness to meet not only the demands of our nation, but those of many other countries around the globe.
