Liverpool see off Luton challenge in FA Cup

London : Liverpool progressed to the FA Cup fourth round Tuesday with a comfortable 5-0 replay victory over League One side Luton Town.

Luton had more than matched Liverpool in the original game, but they were well beaten at Anfield as Steven Gerrard hit a second-half hat trick.

Ryan Babel put Liverpool ahead just before half time and Sami Hyypia weighed in with the third. Rafa Benitez’s side will face Swansea or Havant and Waterlooville in the fourth round.

Tottenham also went through, as Robbie Keane’s 15th-minute goal was enough to give them a 1-0 victory at Reading to set up a fourth-round tie away to Manchester United.

Norwich were the only surprise casualties of the night, as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat at struggling Bury.
