One-day strike in Palestine over Zaitoun killings

Ramallah : People in the Palestinian territories went on strike Wednesday in condemnation of the killings of Palestinians in Al-Zaitoun neighborhood Tuesday.

Shops and government institutions will be closed for the whole day except schools, virtue of a Palestinian cabinet resolution. The flag would be flown at half-mast for three days.

Lawyers at the Palestinian Prisoners Club will suspend work in Israeli courts, protesting the bloodshed.

Public and state bodies and blocs all expressed condemnation of the killings and demanded talks be halted until the Israeli forces stop violence against the Palestinian people.

The Palestinian government renewed calls for international protection for the Palestinian people as Israel continues policies of killings, assassinations, demolitions, and violence.
