Gaza : Over 30 Palestinian missiles were fired late Tuesday from Gaza Strip towards southern Israel, Radio Israel said Wednesday.
An Israeli Army spokesman told the radio that the explosions where the missiles hit injured five Israelis, and one of the missiles landed in the Israeli town of Sderot, near Gaza Strip.
The attacks also caused power blackouts that lasted for hours in some Sderot areas, as one of Sderot’s power lines was hit.
The Israeli Chief of General Staff, Avi Ashkenazi, meanwhile said the army continued incursions in Gaza Strip aimed at preventing Palestinian missile attacks on southern Israel.
The radio quoted Ashkenazi as saying that “the Israeli Army is working every now and then to destroy Palestinian factions missile launching platform, ” noting that military operations could be beefed up if necessary.
