Islamabad : Caretaker Prime Minister Mohammedmian Soomro on Thursday said the government considered country’s demographic dividend as biggest asset, adding steps were being taken to provide citizens better skills and training.
Talking to caretaker Federal Minister for Population Welfare, Dr. A J Khan at PM Secretariat, the Prime Minister said the government had taken numerous steps to provide quality education and skills training to the youth in order to reap the benefits of demographic dividend.
He appreciated the efforts of Ministry of Population Welfare in reducing population growth rate to 1.8 per cent.
He said despite noticeable deceleration in population growth, the policies still needed to be implemented on consistent basis to further reduce the rate.
Dr. A J Khan updated the Prime Minister on various projects being undertaken by the ministry in different parts of the country.
