Pakistan and Afghanistan signs Air Services Agreement

Islamabad : Pakistan and Afghanistan have signed bilateral Air Services Agreement (ASA), said an official statement.

Talks between the two countries were held at the defense ministry in Rawalpindi.

Pakistani side was led by Maj-Gen Mir Haider Ali Khan, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Defense, whereas, the Afghan side was headed by Eng. Raz Mohammad Alami, Technical and Operational Deputy Minister of Transport & Civil Aviation.

The two sides agreed to expand the existing bilateral arrangements in order to promote trade, tourism and people to people contact.

The agreed arrangements allow the designated airlines of the two countries to enhance the existing three weekly frequencies to ten weekly frequencies with a total of 1000 passengers per week in each direction with type of aircraft not exceeding the capacity of B-737 or equivalent.
