Baghdad : An American soldier was killed on Friday when a bomb exploded near his vehicle, the US Army said on Saturday.
The army said in a press release that the incident took place in a district in northern Baghdad, without revealing any more information.
The death toll of US soldiers who have been killed in Iraq since the start of the war in March 2003 has risen to 3,927 deaths, including 23 killed in January this year.
