EU foreign policy commissioner urges Israel to lift Gaza blockade

Berlin : The commissioner for European Union foreign policy, Benita Ferrero-Waldner made an urgent appeal to the Zionist regime to lift the inhuman blockade of the Gaza Strip, the press reported Saturday.

Ferrero-Waldner stressed that if Mideast peace talks were to have any chance to succeed, the overall living conditions of Palestinians had to be improved.

“Something must happen for people to believe in this (peace) process,” she said.

Ferrero-Waldner called for boosting economic aid for the Palestinian-run territories.

The illegal Jewish state has stepped up its military attacks in the Gaza, killing and wounding dozens of people, among them children.

In other related news, German security official have increased security measures in Berlin, fearing reprisal acts against Israeli and Jewish institutions in the German capital in the wake of the Zionist regime’s savage military assault in the Gaza, the online site of Die Welt newspaper reported Saturday.

Germany is an ardent supporter of the criminal Zionist state.
