A division bench of Justice Manmohan Sarin and Justice Veena Birbal overturned its own order of a stay on the probe by the college complaints committee and asked it to go ahead with the investigations.

In a petition, Ray challenged the legality of the committee and sought the quashing of the notification permitting the committee to inquire into sexual harassment charges against him.

The court directed the committee to submit its report before the college governing body and give a copy to Ray.

In October 2007, Ray was accused of sexually harassing the male students of the college. The students after lodging the complaint boycotted his classes.
