In a text issued today in Paris, renowned figures such as former first lady Danielle Mitterrand, and journalist and writer Ignacio Ramonet highlighted Evo’s personality, and progress achieved in the country’s development.

Evo represents the arrival in power of the Quechua and Aymara majority firstly crushed by Spanish colonizers, and then by a bourgeois minority allied to US and European imperialists, they highlighted.

The document also reads that Evo is waging huge efforts to build a social democracy at the service of the Bolivian majority. He was elected by a majority, and heads a social transformation project with social movements playing the main role, it added.

The declaration, also endorsed by alter-globalization activist Jose Bove, and the spokesman of the Revolutionary Communist League, Olivier Besancenot, denounces the existence in Bolivia of a ó reactionary, racist minority that threatens to destroy the country. ó

They finally reiterated their solidarity with the Bolivia people to build a democracy at the service of the majority, and the government they elected.
