Riyadh interested in friendly ties with Tehran: Saudi FM

Tehran : Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal on Sunday in Riyadh voiced his country’s support for Iran-Saudi Arabia friendly relations.

In a meeting with Iranian head of Tehran-Riyadh Friendship Group, Ali Riaz, he said there are bright prospects for expansion of all-out ties between the two Muslim states.

Lauding the important position of both states in the world of Islam, the Saudi foreign minister said Riyadh would counter any country willing to damage the interest of the Islamic nations.

Referring to Iran as a major and influential country both in the region and in the world of Islam, he stressed Riyadh attaches great importance to ties with the Islamic Republic.

For his part, Riaz referred to his talks with Saudi officials as positive, stressing that the two countries share identical views regarding several regional and world developments.

He said the enemies’ attempts to sow discord among Muslim nations would undoubtedly fail.
