Jammu : Continuing with their tirade against the coalition government, National Conference members today created ruckus in the state Legislative Council and later staged walkout seeking the resignation of the two `tainted’ ministers in the coalition government who have been named in the Kundal Committee report.

Before the question hour started in the Jammu and Kashmir LA, here on Tuesday, the NC members rose up demanding that the coalition Ministers, Finance Minister, Tariq Hameed Qarra, and Forest Minister, Qazi Afzal, be sacked for their alleged involvement in the forest irregularities which were probed by the State Chief Secretary, B R Kundal, during his tenure as the Financial Commissioner Home.

However when the Chairman Legislative council, G N Lone, listed the questions, Opposition members didn’t relent and continued with their demand of the resignation of the two Ministers. Later the NC members trooped into the well of the house and continued with their protest against the government.

As the NC members continued to create ruckus they later had a scuffle with the watch and ward staff of the council.

Following this the Chairman ordered that they be forced out of the house. All the six members of the opposition, M Y Taing, M R Qureshi, D S Rana, B A Naaz, Sakina Ittoo and T S Wazir were later marshaled out from the house. However at around 11;30 am the NC members, D S Rana and M R Qureshi later returned to the house and continued to raise slogans against the government.

Over this Chairman suspended M R Qureshi and D S Rana from attending the proceedings of the house.

Later talking to media personnel, D S Rana said that he was suspended for the entire session and criticized the Chairman for being biased towards the Opposition. NC members alleged that the Chairman was scuttling the opposition voice by not agreeing to their demand of adjourning the house when it was in disorder.
