Beijing : Chinese President Hu Jintao will visit Japan in July to attend the G8 summit, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.
The annual summit of the Group of Eight leading industrialized nations – the U.S., the U.K., Italy, Canada, Russia, France, Germany and Japan will be held in Hokkaido, northern Japan, on July 7-9.
Hu Jintao is expected to hold a number of bilateral meetings, including with U.S. President George W. Bush.
Leaders of other non-G8 members India, South Korea, Australia, Brazil and several African countries have also been invited to attend.
The summit’s agenda will include climate change and sustainable energy, food security and African development.
