Tehran : Pakistani Finance Minister Syed Naveed Qamar has called for further cooperation between his country and Iran in the field of power and water.
Meeting with Iran’s Energy Minister Parviz Fattah Monday, Qamar said that Iran and Pakistan are two countries with many religious and historical commonalities.
Referring to the mutual constructive relations, Qamar, who is currently visiting Iran to attend the 17th session of the Iran-Pakistan Joint Commission, said that the two sides have constantly made efforts to broaden bilateral ties.
He also called for the presence of Iranian companies in water and electricity sector in Pakistan.
Pointing to common interests shared by both countries in economic and trade cooperation, the Pakistani minister invited the Iranian side to visit Pakistan.
On his part, the Iranian minister of energy expressed the country’s readiness to export services to Pakistan particularly in engineering and technological fields.
Referring to Iran’s self-sufficiency in power, electricity and water, Fattah added that the country is ready to cooperate with Pakistan in dam and power plant construction.
