Residents took to the road against Delhi Police. They alleged their area had become a criminal hub and even after three deaths due to shootings in the area earlier, no arrests have been made.

“The police are negligent and not able to control crime in the area,” an angry protester said.

The crowds jammed the Bus Rapid Transit Corridor, holding up traffic for about two hours.

On Saturday evening, two people were allegedly shot at by two unidentified assailants in Madangir area. The injured were identified as Naresh and Pawan, residents and general store shopkeepers in the area. They are reported to be out of danger.

Residents were also upset at recent statements by Delhi Police suspecting the involvement of psycho killers behind the incidents.

“We feel unsafe when we hear about some psycho killers on the prowl in our area,” said a resident.
