Baghdad : Iraq and the United States added some items to a legal framework agreement on US military presence in this Arab country, the local news agency Aswat al Iraq reported on Monday.
The news agency quoted the political chief of the Shiite community, Hassan al Saneed, who said, “Disagreement between Iraqi and US parties has decreased in a great extent and they have agreed in many issues.”
Washington and Baghdad are holding talks to prioritize relations between the two countries in the alleged war against terrorism, launched by the incumbent US government.
Local authorities mentioned the possibility that the United States sets a schedule to pull out its forces, but Washington refuses to set a timetable for the withdrawal.
Al Saneed added, “The struggle against terrorism will imply joint operations and coordination with the Iraqi government.”
On the other hand, US occupation troops in Iraq set up an operation group made up of Iraqi women to try reducing the number of suicide attacks by their peers.
According to a communiqué from the US command, more than 100 women make the so-called Daughters of Iraq detachments, conceived as an organization similar to the Sons of Iraq and the Councils of Salvation.
These armed bodies are aimed at dividing the people and undermine people’s support for Iraqi resistance.
