Qureshi community getting ready for active electoral politics

New Delhi: All India Jamiat-ul-Quresh (AIJQ) has decided to support those politicians from the Quresh community who are active in electoral politics so that representation of the community in legislatures could be raised.

The organization held a special meeting yesterday at India Islamic Cultural Centre and decided to identify and help those rich individuals of the community who are interested in contesting elections. The meeting was presided over by Sirajuddin Qureshi, the national president of AIJQ.

On this occasion, AIJQ appealed to political parties to consider giving adequate representation in their organizational structure to Quresh community that comprises crores of people. The meeting also pondered over excesses committed by police and administration against traders belonging to Quresh community.

Expressing concern over such incidents, Sirajuddin also appealed to the people associated with meat trade not do anything that would be objectionable to others.
