Tehran : The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) demanded the government of the United States on Wednesday to end the economic, financial and trade embargo on Cuba and the return of the Guantanamo Bay, territory illegally occupied by the US government.
In the Final Declaration of the 15th NAM Ministerial Conference members declared to be against the coercive measure and described it as unilateral and against the UN Charter and international law.
The coercive measure against the West Indian nation contradicts the good-neighbor principles and causes significant damage to Cuban economy, continues the declaration.
Washington should comply with the consecutive resolutions approved in the UN General Assembly from 1992 to 2007 of ending the punitive measure against Cuban Revolution.
In the Declaration, NAM member states also claimed the end of aggressive radio and TV broadcasting against Cuba, and described those measures as a violation of the nation”s sovereignty and an even more serious violation of the human rights of Cubans.
Felipe Perez Roque, Cuban foreign minister and president of Cuba”s delegation to the NAM Conference, received countless verbal demonstrations of solidarity and support to the work done by Cuba as president of the NAM.
