Alfred George alias Fred alias Bazinga Collins, 31, was arrested from Satya Niketan area in south Delhi Sunday for allegedly gunning down fellow Nigerian Peter Eke last month over a dispute of Rs.400,000.

George had come to India on a six-month visa as a soccer player. He claims to have played for a few state-level clubs in Kerala and Delhi. After the expiry of the visa term, he did not go back and overstayed illegally.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Shalini Singh said Eke’s body was found May 12 in Arjun Nagar in south Delhi.

“It was found in investigations that the victim was living with a girl in a rented accommodation in the same area. The girl said on the day of the murder she along with Eke and their common friend Friday Okoh were present in the house,” Singh said.

In the evening there was a knock on the door and Okoh and Eke went out of the house. After a while she came to know that Eke had been shot dead.

The police said Okoh went missing after the incident but was later traced in the Vasant Vihar area. Okoh in his interrogation revealed that he had witnessed the murder.

“Okoh said Onwuemeri A. Kennedy, a Nigerian, along George and two Indian accomplices had come in a white car. Initially, there were some arguments between Kennedy and Eke over some money. In the meantime, George shot at Eke,” Singh added.

According to the police, George did not have any known source of income but used to often travel by air and was receiving money through Western Union from various countries.
