“I met Tatyana at an exhibition in New Delhi last year and she told me about Penza. I knew that I wanted to visit that provincial Russian town and show my work to its people,” Surjit told a press conference on the exhibition.

The prolific artist has created more than 3,000 paintings over a period of more than 20 years.
