Rome : President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said here that Tehran-Havana cooperation in NAM can further boost the pursuit of their common goals.
Ahmadinejad told Cuban First Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura on the sidelines of the UN food summit that Iran and Cuba are two countries in a similar camp and their cooperation has been viewed favourably internationally.
Describing Iran-Cuba relations as “firm and progressive” over the past three decades, Ahmadinejad said the two countries’ economic ties can be promoted to the highest level once a joint cooperation commission is formed.
Ahmadinejad also pointed to the US failure in Iraq and said Iraqis are against the US military presence in their country and due to the same reason, the US has come across with growing difficulty there. “The problems have penetrated into the US society too and nobody can hide the realities,” he added.
Ventura said that his country has always been supporting Iran’s stances on international issues.
He said today, the management system dominating the world is contradictory, needing to be reformed.
He hoped that formation of a joint Iran-Cuba cooperation committee will help promote bilateral ties.
