The announcement of the campaign was made after a joint meeting between the leadership and MPs of the two main parties at the parliament building Tuesday.

They issued a statement stressing the need to communicate through rational dialogue among all political powers, to refer to state institutions and to steer clear of isolationism.

The statement also pointed out to the need for the relationship between the parties to serve as prelude to the restoration of relations between all political powers, based on a peaceful and democratic principle through acknowledgment of their political disparities.

The parties expressed commitment to the Doha Accord, particularly in terms of speeding up the formation of a government of national unity to play its part in the emergence of a new phase among the Lebanese and to open dialogue to fortify the country’s internal resistance.
