New Delhi : Saina Nehwal gave a scare to third seed Pi Hongyan of France before going down in women’s singles second round of Indonesia Super Series in Jakarta Thursday.
Saina took a 1-0 lead before losing 21-12, 18-21, 16-21 to Hongyan.
Saina, who reached the semifinal of Singapore Open Super Series last week, will now play in Thailand.
India’s challenge in men’s singles has already ended with both Anup Sridhar and Arvind Bhat losing their first round matches Wednesday.
