Pakistan, India hold anti-terrorism meeting

Islamabad : Pakistan and India on Tuesday started their third meeting of Joint Anti-Terrorism Mechanism (JATM) in Islamabad to discuss counter-terrorism measures and exchange.

The Pakistan delegation is led by Masood Khalid, additional secretary of the Foreign Ministry while the Indian delegation is headed by Vivek Katju, Additional Secretary Ministry of External Affairs.

The JATM was set up after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf met on Sept. 16, 2006, on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement Summit in Havana.

The first meeting of the mechanism was held last March and the second meeting was held in New Delhi last October.

The two sides are expected to discuss various counter-terrorism measures and exchange information to assist in investigations related to terrorist acts.
