Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan : Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) country’s premier news organisation opened a station here Monday.
Managing Director APP, Ria Riaz Hussain addressing the inaugural ceremony said APP, which is the official news agency is playing a commendable role in the present age of communication by providing accurate and timely news to different channels including local and international print and electronic media.
The ceremony was attended by a number of media men. “APP has 750 regular employees and 124 district correspondents, who produce around 1100 news items daily,” the MD said.
He further said that on the directives of former Information Minister Muhammmad Ali Durrani many contractual employees of the organisation were regularised after proper test and interview.
He said APP has news exchange agreements with many international organizations, besides providing services to BBC, VOA, AFP and AP.
