In a final communique Sunday, the AIP called on Arab leaders, who are scheduled to meet in Damascus later this month, to address inter-Arab disputes and defuse tension between Arabs.

It rejected the Israeli government’s policies of “discrimination” against the Palestinian people, especially the policies which considered Israel a Jewish state “through which it aims at ejecting all Arab population from the Arab territories occupied in 1948, as well as banning the (Palestinian) refugees from returning to their homes.”

The AIP urged the Arab countries to reconsider peace as a strategic option because Israel has violated all principles of the peace process. The Arab governments should refuse to allow the Palestinian refugees settle in third countries, it added.

The AIP strongly condemned the Israeli “holocaust” against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip which killed and wounded over 300 people, and called on the Arab governments to break the siege on the Palestinians.

It urged anew the Palestinian parties to iron out their differences and unite against the Israelis.

On Lebanon, the AIP voiced support for the Arab initiative to tackle the political standoff, urging regional and international parties to stop interferring in the Lebanese internal affairs.

It condemned the republication of caricatures of Prophet Mohammad by Danish newspapers and considered it a provocative act.
