“It is also a political farce reveals the full dependent of Ramalla team (the Palestinian National Authority) to the U.S. administration’s orders,” Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoom told the press.

President Abbas suspended the talks earlier this month to protest deadly Israeli offensive in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip where more than 125 Palestinians were killed.

Media reports said Monday that Abbas will meet Israeli Premier Ehud Olmert next week in Jerusalem, which came following an announcement by PNA negotiator Saeb Erekat that the Israeli and Palestinian negotiation teams will meet on Thursday.

Barhoom, however, denounced that “Abbas’ decision and the negotiation crew’s decision is a stab in the back of the martyrs and the victims of the Israeli massacre who are mostly the children and the women.”

Abbas’ decision was made in coincidence with an Israeli announcement of new plans to build more settlements in the West Bank and Jerusalem in a fierce violation of the negotiations’ reference: the U.S.-backed Road Map peace plan, he said.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s plans “deprecate the Palestinian president and his negotiation team,” said Barhoom.
