Kolkata : Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan and former India captain Sourav Ganguly Tuesday unveiled the name and logo for the team which will be called Kolkata Knight Riders for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL), at a glittering ceremony here.
As the team’s theme song “Korbo, Lorbo, Jitbo” (We will do it, fight it and win it) blared, the superstar who is the Kolkata team franchise owner raised his hands with team captain Ganguly, coach John Buchanan and actor Juhi Chawla.
The black and gold jersey of the team was also unveiled.
“Black is the colour of goddess Kali (a symbol of Kolkata) and we aim for gold,” said Shah Rukh Khan at the inauguration, where he also promised that he would learn Bengali.
“Sourav has promised to teach me,” he laughed.
