Ankit, 15, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his Sector-2 R.K. Puram home. He was a student of Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead. The police said no suicide note was recovered from him.

“The victim’s parents told us that Ankit was depressed and was not interacting much with anyone for the past few days. We don’t think exam pressure could be the reason of his extreme step,” Assistant Commissioner of Police (Vasant Vihar) told IANS.

A class 6 student Wednesday committed suicide by hanging himself in his Vasant Vihar house apparently after failing in his school examinations. This was the fourth case of a student committing suicide, reportedly due to examination stress, in the capital in the past two weeks.

An 18-year-old class 11 student Monday allegedly hanged herself in her north Delhi home, while on Sunday a 17-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself in her northeast Delhi home.

She was a class 12 student of a government school in the area.
