Madrid : The Spanish Congress ratified on Tuesday the sending of another 36 troops to Afghanistan to operate four unmanned spy planes.
They will join another 724 servicemen deployed in the Heart base, in western Afghanistan, according to reports.
As of April, UAV planes will operate under Spanish command.
During debate in Parliament, spokespersons for several parties criticised the government decision to send more troops to Afghanistan without previous congressional authorization.
