By Xinhua,
Dhaka : Bangladesh is out of danger from Cyclone Nargis as it bypassed Bangladesh’s coasts and moved towards Myanmar Friday.
The meteorological office here said the cyclone moved eastwards and was crossing Myanmar coast at 18:00 (12 GMT) Friday.
The deep depression over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal turned into a cyclonic storm Nargis on April 28.
Nargis has intensified into a severe cyclone on April 29.
The weather officials had earlier said Nargis was weaker than Cyclone Sidr which attacked Bangladesh’s southwestern districts on Nov. 15 last year leaving 3,400 people killed and millions homeless.
