Speaking at a programme jointly organized by Siddiqui Charitable Trust and Parwaz Media Group, Athawale said Muslims should be given reservation by amending the article 341 of the Constitution of India. While asking the community to come on a single platform, he assured the gathering to make all efforts in the Parliament for Muslim reservation.

Managing director of Parwaz Media Group M. Ahmad Khan demanded that IT education should also be given at madrasas so that madrasa students could also be assimilated in the mainstream. He also demanded that schools up to 12th standard should also be opened in Muslim majority areas so that Muslim girls can be educated at least up to that level. At least five more universities should be established on the pattern of Aligarh Muslim University, he demanded. He said the fight for reservations for Muslims will have to be undertaken by all sections of the community.
