Tehran : Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here on Saturday that Iran shoulders heavy responsibility to meet needs of the world community.
Addressing a ceremony to honour exemplary teachers, he said that the progress Iran has made in the field of science and technology is in line with the need of the international community.
Elsewhere in his speech, he called for vigilance of the Iranian people against the enemies’ conspiracies.
He said that the government attaches due attention to the status of the Education Ministry.
He called for advancing the country’s education system.
He also urged the officials to make greater efforts to settle the existing problems facing the teaching staff.
Prior to president’s speech, Education Minister, Ali-Reza Ali-Ahmadi briefed the audience on the performance of his ministry.
At the end of the meeting, Ahmadinejad presented 14 exemplary teachers from among 180 selected teachers with plaques of honor.
